How can you self-inspect your car?
A few prerequisites for using this feature are that you should have a car insurance policy with ICICI Lombard, ILTakeCare app in your phone, 3 MP or above camera, and stable internet connection. Once you do that, here is how you can go about making your claim:
- Firstly, you have to contact your car insurance provider immediately after you meet with an accident.
- Once you contact the insurance provider, the representative will ask you to use the Instaspect feature in the ILTakeCare app.
- You must log into the app, provide all your policy and vehicle details required and then select the Instaspect option.
- Using your camera through the app, you have to take a photo/video of the damage to your car.
- Once you submit the photo or video, your claim is processed in real time.
- If all your information is correct and your self-inspection accurate, your claim is approved.

On-the-spot vehicle inspection
Usually, in the case of a car insurance claim, you have to wait one or two days at least for authorized personnel from the insurance company to inspect your vehicle. This means for at least 2 days your claim is no closer to being processed and approved. Meanwhile, you cannot risk driving a damaged car on the road. This means that your daily commute to work and back is now compromised. On the other hand, the Instaspect feature of the ILTakeCare app allows you to get your vehicle inspected right after the accident happens. This way, you don’t have to wait for an inspection for the claim to be processed further.
